Stars Roger Federer and David Goffin Set to Play, as are Olympic Gold Medalist Jack Sock and U.S. Open Semifinalist CoCo Vandeweghe

Tennis Channel and Tennis Channel Plus will provide complete coverage of 2018 Hopman Cup competition this week and next, the world’s most prestigious mixed-doubles team competition. Coverage begins with the United States’ first-round battle with Russia on Friday, Dec. 29, at 9 p.m. ET ( eastern United States time) live on Tennis Channel Plus. Among the stars set to play this weekend are Switzerland’s Roger Federer, Germany’s Angelique Kerber and America’s Jack Sock and CoCo Vandeweghe. Sock, an Olympic gold medalist, will partner with US Open semifinalist and Fed Cup champion Vandeweghe, as the Americans pursue a record-breaking seventh title in the annual mixed-doubles tournament. Hopman Cup matches feature teams of one man and one woman and take place at the Perth Arena in Perth, Australia, December 30-January 6.

The network’s digital subscription service, Tennis Channel Plus, will carry all 2018 Hopman Cup matches live in their entirety. Tennis Channel Plus is available to everyone in the United States, regardless of whether they currently subscribe to the television network. Encore matches will appear on Tennis Channel.

The United States leads all nations in Hopman Cup titles, claiming its sixth crown in 2011. Sock, a Hopman Cup finalist in 2017 with Vandeweghe, will make his third-consecutive appearance in the tournament. He holds an Olympic gold medal in mixed doubles with Bethanie Mattek-Sands and a bronze medal in men’s doubles with Steve Johnson. Last month, Sock won the Rolex Paris Masters and reached the semifinals at the Nitto ATP Finals in London. His partner Vandeweghe will return to Hopman Cup play for her second-consecutive time. This year she advanced to the semifinals at both the Australian Open and the US Open and finished runner-up at the WTA Elite Trophy in Zhuhai, China last month. In November, she also contributed to the United States’ first Fed Cup championship since 2000.

The Americans’ first challenge is Russia’s team of Pavlyuchenkova and Karen Khachanov. Pavlyuchenkova had an impressive run at this year’s Australian Open in January before falling to

Venus Williams in the quarterfinals. In October, she clinched her 11th WTA title at China’s Hong Kong Open. In October at the WTA Elite Trophy, Pavlyuchenkova defeated former World No. 1 Kerber for the third time this year. Khachanov received his best Grand Slam result in May at the French Open, reaching the fourth round before losing to former World No. 1 Andy Murray. Last year, Khachanov won his first ATP title at the Chengdu Open in China.
