Andy Murray is on top of the world again—celebrating fatherhood.
Wife Kim Sears has given birth to the couple’s second child, a baby daughter, in recent weeks.
News of the birth broke shortly after Murray played Roger Federer in a charity exhibition event at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow yesterday.
The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Sophia Olivia Murray, to the world on February 7th, 2016.
The former world No. 1’s famous grandmother, Shirley Erskine, told the BBC she was “delighted” by the news and was headed to London to meet the newest family addition.
“All’s well, which is the main thing,” Erskine told the BBC. “She’s a little playmate for Sophia, who I’m sure will be equally thrilled.”
Mrs. Erskine, who lives in Murray’s hometown of Dunblane, did not disclose the name of the couple’s new baby, but told the BBC both mother and daughter are doing well.
“I’m sure they’ve got that all worked out,” Mrs. Erskine said. “We’ll find out this weekend. I don’t really know much at the moment because we haven’t seen her.
“But we’re looking forward to having a little cuddle and a little play with Sophia, who is running about all over the place and chattering.”
