JOE HUNT FROM SEATTLE SHARES A GOODBYE TO STEVE JOHNSON SENIOR |

I am devastated to just this morning learn of the loss of Steve Sr. I was watching Tennis Channel’s French Open preview and couldn’t believe when Lindsay Davenport mentioned this loss. I have been off Facebook for several weeks or I would have received the news sooner. Steve Sr. and I met at the Ojai in 2014 and connected instantly, talking about tennis parenting, coaching and the sport that held his passion. I was inspired by his deep commitment to the whole person of the tennis player and I so admired how he loved and supported his son. His ability to successfully coach his own child speaks a lot of the quality of this gentleman. I had the honor to also meet his wife and was equally impressed with Mrs. Johnson for how they partnered to raised strong children with ethic and character. Sr., you are so missed and I am so sad.
