Tonight we’ll see one of the most hotly anticipated first round matches: Djokovic vs. Del Potro. Novak leads the H2H 11-3, but Delpo won their match at the 2012 Olympics. Who will you be rooting for? – Photo by @tennisisnumber1 via Instagram.

Rio. Wow. First the highlights and tidbits. Ok. It’s all tidbits.

The opening ceremony. It was over the top awesome. We loved the British “Kit”… TV delays and commercials were not appreciated….

The tennis players carrying their countries flags. Andy Murray for Great Britain. Gilles Muller for Luxemburg. CAROLINE Wozniacki for Denmark and last but not least “Rafa” RAFAEL NADAL for Espana.

Tennis flag bearers!! #Rafa #Olympics #rio – Photo by @carowozniacki via Instagram.

AMERICAN Jack Sock showing up and playing with walking pneumonia (is that contagious ?) just wondering. Hand sanitizer anyone?

Bug spray is a popular commodity in Rio. We watched the players playing night matches covering up. Anyone get a mosquito bite yet?

We loved VENUS WILLIAMS’ dress. We always do. Great designs!

Sorry for the FRENCH dubs ladies having trouble matching their outfits. The dubs rules do say that the partners or teammates need to be similarly attired…. Typical that their federation was zero help. Most of the tennis federations are jokes. Including the ITF. The OLYMPICS should have “points”.

Global Chick and Geezer are there representing us. Geezers been hanging with Casey Wasserman. What a fantastic sports management company he has built. It’s truly a life times effort in under ten years. It’s Amazeballs! The Monumental Wasserman Media Group. (Lew & Edie would be proud)

Speaking of Global Chick she has decided to bring back our radio show! We are thrilled! Look for us to be “blasting” about it in 2017 if not sooner “Open Tennis”.

Sorry to see VENUS Williams go out of OLYMPICS in the first round. BUT. It was a valiant 3 hour effort and she was beaten by our friend FLIP,”Flipper”, Kirsten Flipkens of Belgium who wore 10sBalls patches in 2014 and 2015. Flip is so talented. We call her the Female Federer. It was great to see Flips lobs. Drop shots. All court game. All 5’2″ of her. Or is she 5’3″? WTA says 5’5″…

The courts are playing bouncy and they have a really rough (Gritty) top coat of surface. The balls are getting fluffy and it’s not easy that last game before new balls come into play. The courts need vacuuming every night to remove the layer of fuzz from the balls…

Shout outs to all of our coach friends. It’s great to see Mark Draper brother of Scott coaching the AUSTRALIAN men’s team. Both brothers so talented. Scott the lefty. Mark the leaner of the two. Mark qualied one year for every slam then was always facing tough opponents. Great guy. Great golfer and pianist too.

Idemoo great to see Dusan Vemic 10sBalls Global Lifetime Ambassador coaching the Serbian men’s team. Dusan stopped playing too soon. Such a great talent. Check out the utube of Novak and Dusan at the net in a long practice rally.

Pat Cairns from OAKLEY must be thrilled with lots of international TV exposure with Dusan. And Flipkens! Flip had her Oakley’s painted black, yellow, red for Belguim. She also had 3 hours of airtime to beat VENUS who was playing very solid tennis.

Del Potro is the story of the tennis so far. He took out Serbian star and world number one Novak Djokovic. His day had started stuck in an elevator for 40 minutes till the Argentinian handball team rescued him. He beats Novak and has to play singles again in less than 15 hours. And beats Sousa of Portugal in three to now play dubs . Long days for Juan Martin. But how totally thrilling. Bonus round of his career. We sure hope that wrist holds up.

Argentine tennis player Juan Martin del Potro found himself stuck in an elevator in Rio’s Olympic Village for 40 minutes before his opening match at the Olympics. He still managed to beat world No. 1 Novak Djokovic, though. So a little alone time seemed to do him some good!

Bottom line. Happy 35th birthday to the greatest overall tennis player of ALL time ROGER FEDERER!!!!!! Ok. He isn’t number one anymore. Ok. But still no one has ever graced a tennis court like that man. He is superior. His balance. His flow.

His fall at Wimbledon was so UN like him. His balance was always perfect on any surface. But the grass of WIMBLEDON is like his arena. His stadium, his theatre or opera house.

Roger we hope you have a great day with your beautiful family. It must be nice to be at home with the girls the boys and Mirka.

Anything is possible Rog maybe we will see you in four years. Maybe some dubs with Stan or maybe singles…

Tennis Gods are praying and so are we.

Speedy recovery.

The only way to describe this U.S. open is soaking wet without raining... It's really hard to play tennis when your socks are soaking wet and you are "sloshing" in your shoes. Your shoes get really heavy when they get wet.
