Top seed and defending men’s singles champion Emmanuel Mensah of San Diego began his title defense at the USTA National Open Hard Court Championships on a successful note as he eliminated fellow San Diegan Luis Argote 6-4, 6-0 in an early-morning second round match today.

I am sure many tennis fans are very frustrated to wait for tennis to be on tv and for those in the stands it is even worse but those that have the patience and perseverance to hang in there and wait for play to get on the way will be in for a nice surprise and will speak about in years to come.
After receiving first-round byes at the USTA National Open Hard Court Championships, all 16 seeded players in the men’s singles draw will be in action in the second round on Tuesday at the historic Balboa Tennis Club.
The French Open is down to its last player in singles, and an upset will be required if the host nation wants to have a representative in the semifinals.

This was one of the day's matches interrupted by rain (they managed to finish the men's singles, but almost everything else was disrupted), but if the rain changed anything at all in this match, it just increased the performance gap between Andy Murray and John Isner.
