The Tennis Podcast And Telegraph Sport To Partner Throughout 2016

The Tennis Podcast and Telegraph Sport have extended their partnership to produce regular free, weekly downloadable shows for the duration of 2016, as well as additional shows during Grand Slam tournaments.

BBC 5 Live and BT Sport tennis commentator David Law, and Eurosport presenter Catherine Whitaker will continue to host the podcast, which launched in May 2012 and recently celebrated its one millionth download. Telegraph Sport will promote the podcast on its website and social media platforms.

The Tennis Podcast and Telegraph Sport began working together last June, and over the past 12 months its audience has grown by more than 400%. Between 12,000 and 15,000 people download the show every week, from all over the world.

Adam Sills, Head of Sport at Telegraph Media Group, said: “Tennis is an important sport for us and we are delighted to extend our partnership with The Tennis Podcast. David Law and Catherine Whitaker are experienced tennis broadcasters with a well-established show, and over the past six months the podcast has been an entertaining and insightful addition to our tennis coverage.”

As well as reviewing recent action and previewing matches and tournaments to come, The Tennis Podcast often features big-name guests and interviews. Since the partnership with Telegraph Sport began, John McEnroe, Marat Safin and Pete Sampras have all been guests, with football manager Jose Mourinho, comedian Jack Whitehall and One Direction star Liam Payne making cameo appearances at The Queen’s Club.

The most recent episode of The Tennis Podcast, published yesterday, features guests Pat Rafter (talking about Lleyton Hewitt), and Leon Smith on the British players in the draw. Listen – http://goo.gl/0qrh8q.

The show will continue to be playable directly from the Telegraph Sport website, and downloadable from iTunes and many other online and app-based platforms.
