Vasek Pospisil and Jack Sock stormed into their third ATP World Tour final of the season on Saturday as they upended top seeds Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau 6-3, 6-4 in the semi-finals of the China Open in Beijing.

The Canadian/American duo are chasing their second title of the year, having lifted the trophy at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. They also finished runners-up in Miami, but had endured a lean spell over the summer, suffering four successive opening-round losses in Atlanta, Washington, Cincinnati and the US Open leading into the Asian swing.

“Jack and I have been playing well this whole week,” said Pospisil, who also reached the Beijing final last year with Julien Benneteau. “We had a tough summer with some matches. But I feel like we’ve got a lot of energy back and we’re playing really well as a team again this week. I think that’s been key the past three matches.”

Pospisil and Sock are making a late push to qualify for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals and will move to 10th in the Emirates ATP Race To London with today’s result. Wimbledon champions Rojer and Tecau have already punched their ticket, joining Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan in the eight-team field.

“When we’re playing well, like we did today, and serving well, we’ve shown we’re a dangerous team and we’re tough to play,” said Pospisil. “We’re enjoying our time on the court and we’re going to try to keep doing that in the final and for the rest of the year and see where it goes.”

In Sunday’s final, Pospisil and Sock will face fourth seeds Daniel Nestor and Edouard Roger-Vasselin, who defeated second seeds Marcin Matkowski and Nenad Zimonjic 6-4, 7-6(10) in 89 minutes.

Nestor and Roger-Vasselin are through to their third final in just four tournaments together. They made a lightening start to their partnership in the summer, reaching the Montreal final before lifting the Cincinnati trophy a week later, going on to reach the third round at the US Open.
