Week-After-Week Live Coverage, Close to 500 Total On-Air Hours,

Planned for Summer Lead Up to US Open

Champions Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic, Maria Sharapova, Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka, Others Set to Compete in Tournaments on Network Schedule

The Tennis Channel has comprehensive coverage during the summer tournament season again in 2015, as the game’s most sought-after stars take to the courts in preparation for the year’s last Grand Slam event – the US Open. The network will devote close to 500 total hours to the men’s ATP and women’s WTA tours this summer, with more than 200 live hours across eight events. Telecasts include wall-to-wall coverage blocks of live matches throughout the summer, with quarterfinal, semifinal and final telecasts from most competitions.

Tournaments covered on the network this summer include the bet-at-home Open (Hamburg, Germany – ATP); Swiss Open Gstaad (Gstaad, Switzerland – ATP); Baku Cup (Baku, Azerbaijan – WTA); Brasil Tennis Cup (Florianopolis, Brazil – WTA); Citi Open (Washington, D.C. – ATP/WTA); Rogers Cup (Toronto – WTA); Rogers Cup (Montreal – ATP); and the Western & Southern Open (Cincinnati – ATP/WTA).

In addition to wide-ranging television coverage, Tennis Channel’s digital subscription service, Tennis Channel Plus, will have live match play at the tournaments in Baku, Azerbaijan; Florianopolis, Brazil; and Washington, D.C, totaling more than 55 hours of live coverage.

The summer season on Tennis Channel is more than just a comprehensive tennis lineup. It is a time during the game’s year-long schedule where tennis’ top talent routinely meet each other on the road to the US Open. International tennis stars like World No. 1s Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams along with Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Maria Sharapova, Rafael Nadal and others are expected to battle at numerous events this summer. Grand Slam-caliber finals from these tournaments last year included Roger Federer versus Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Venus Williams versus Agnieszka Radwanska (Rogers Cup); and Roger Federer versus David Ferrer and Serena Williams versus Ana Ivanovic (Cincinnati). This year should be no different as players strive to get in as much match time as they can before the US Open begins on August 31.

Beginning this week, Tennis Channel brings viewers 30 live hours from the bet-at-home Open in Hamburg, Germany as well as nearly 20 live Center Court hours devoted to other international events, including the competitions in Gstaad, Baku and Florianopolis. Things get underway in North America next Monday, August 3, with the Citi Open in Washington, with more than 60 live hours; followed by the Rogers Cup in Canada with 46 live hours; and finishing with the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati with 45 live hours.

The network’s free Tennis Channel Everywhere app allows most network subscribers to watch the summer season on Tennis Channel live whenever and wherever they want. Additionally, those viewers who subscribe to the channel’s digital subscription service Tennis Channel Plus will be able to watch more live coverage from this summer’s tournaments as well as thousands of hours of on-demand content.
