Nishikori Signs Endorsement Contract With Beer Company
Japan’s marketing machine Kei Nishikori has picked up another sponsor, with the Asian ace to begin promotion on a non-alcoholic beer in the build-up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The ATP No. 5 is being hyped as the face of the Games for his various line-up of national sponsors.
Nishikori will become the brand identity for Asahi Dry Zero Free beer, set to debut next month, with the 25-year-old to appear in TV and print advertising. Part of his role will be to support the Asahi conglomerate’s Drink Responsibly campaign.
“We are very pleased to be working with Kei and having him be the face of the Asahi Dry Zero Free brand. Kei is not only a fantastic representative of his native Japan; he has become one of the biggest Asian sports stars with a bright future,” said Asahi president Akiyoshi Koji. “We look forward to supporting Kei as he goes after his dream of representing Japan on the world’s biggest stage and becoming the 2020 Olympic Champion.
The company, founded in 1889, is only one in a lucrative stable of Nishikori sponsors, which also include Japan’s Nissin Food – famous for its Pot Noodles – Delta, TAG Heuer, Wilson, Uniqlo, Wowow media, Weider, Airweave, Jaccs and Adidas.
US Open finalist Nishikori is also the brand ambassador for Jaguar and has inspired a limited edition of ‘Kei Nishikori’ F-Type coupe for the Japanese market.
