The ITF has announced six new international broadcaster agreements in advance of this weekend’s Fed Cup by BNP Paribas World Group and World Group II first round ties on 7-8 February. The competition will be broadcast in all 16 nations contesting this weekend’s ties, with an additional 18 broadcasters covering the feature tie between Poland and Russia in Krakow.
Seven (Australia), Romtelecom (Romania), Polsat (Poland), beIN SPORTS (Thailand) and beIN SPORTS (Indonesia) have all signed two-year deals with the ITF, while TV24 (Switzerland) has signed an agreement for 2015.
The new agreements follow the announcement of the new strategic media rights partnership between the ITF and beIN SPORTS for Davis Cup by BNP Paribas and Fed Cup by BNP Paribas. beIN SPORTS will broadcast this weekend’s Fed Cup feature tie on its own channels in Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia and Laos.
The partnership between ITF and beIN SPORTS is designed to increase the global exposure and quality of Davis Cup and Fed Cup coverage across both linear and digital channels to the benefit of the millions of tennis fans around the world who follow the competitions. In 2014, there were around 2,400 hours of dedicated Fed Cup TV coverage by over 40 broadcasters in over 100 territories worldwide reaching a global audience of over 28 million viewers.
