BRIGHT COLORS EVERYWHERE @ AUSTRALIAN OPEN IN MELBOURNE PARK EVEN MIRKA FEDERER WAS WEARING A "RF" HOT PINK HAT |
By Disco Dottie.
Hello from “Down Under ” ! It’s so bright here that even the 10s balls are wearing “sunnies” ( auzzie slang for sunglasses ). It seems like every clothing manufacturer went Hot / bright / Cray Cray colors.
For real we think Nike wins. I’ve said for years that yellow shirts , socks , shoes , and strings would all cause an opponent to “lose” the ball. At this level even a blink is a big deal.

We Love the colors and crazy outfits and combinations. We even saw Mirka Federer sitting courtside in her players guest box wearing a first…. A Roger Federer hat in PINK ( RF). Wow. Mirka in a hat ? She actually wears lots of hats. Wife. Mother of 4 under 5 , Road manager. Daughter. Daughter in law….

Ok back to the colors. Some players were in the Aussie wearing the arena blue. That’s more like what the players wear at the French open. It’s as if they try to blend in there. Pale greens. Burnt orange. It’s almost like camouflage so they are fading into the clay.
We applaud Roy Sakaguchi from Nike who is a really talented guy and comes up with some Great designs !
Wimbledon and it’s whites are a refreshing visit back to the old days. It’s actually a paint color. “Wimbledon White ”
We’ve assembled all our “shades ” ( American slang for sunglasses ) and we are ready to turn on the TV and watch. Yes , even for TV watching it helps .

Tennis players and coaches around the world will receive this prototype racket as part of, what we believe is, the largest and broadest playtest in racket history.
David Goffin, finalist of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in 2017, will come to Rotterdam for the sixth time in February. The 28-year-old Belgian is the ninth player who has been announced for the 46th edition.
