2014 has been a great year for men’s professional tennis. It’s been a great year for all the SUPERSTARS of ladies tennis. It’s been hard on the FAN. The ticket prices are too high. The old tourney directors and promoters never factored in players pay checks from ticket holders seat prices. Nope. That’s what the sponsors were for.

Ok , so I used the title to lure you in and then spoke politics. Sorry. Ok. Here we go. Gossip and tidbits and all that stuff……

Of course Roger Federer saw PINK for years and played with the girls and their dolls. Now that his beautiful Mirka has delivered the beautiful boy twins he will have buddies to take to “FOOTIE” (FOOTBALL).

Do players shave body parts ? a lot ? Yes. Some like Agassi. The whole body. Some their arms. Some their chests. Some their legs. Some their backs .eeew. Ok. So why ? For massage purposes. Some guys hate that pulling feeling the oil does to their hairy bodies as they are getting rub downs. Tennis players spend hours in recovery even on training days. It’s funny , no?

Does Rafael Nadal smell the olive oil ? Absolutely. His nose knows fresh olive oil. So many times it is rancid (old)….He is a smart man. Just…. if I had a wish list… I wish he would go to a “butt rehab “and get over his nasty habit. Benito you can’t talk him into it ? Deb you had any luck ? Or do you like it ? Rafa you look stupid … It’s more annoying to watch than when Novak was Mr. BOUNCE BOUNCE BOUNCE ….Do they have “butt rehab ” ? …Probably in Los Angeles.

On to America and the great toys for tots drive for Christmas. First of all it’s a great idea for any kids toys collection. Tennis rackets and balls packaged together for some kid to find a wall and find a sport of a lifetime. My favorite new score words that I coined this year. “A BAGEL AND A SMEAR ” for a match whose score is 6-0,6-1. But maybe my “BUTT REHAB ” is another one.

We can’t keep up with the coaching changes. Usually we can. But Gimel wanting to leave home and coach Isner ? Buddy Jon Leach will share coaching duties with his wife Lindsay Davenport? Martina Hingis and Martina Navratilova coaching. Hope fully Xavier Malisse has a big announcement to make. And top it off with .. is James Blake the new high performance director for the USTA ? We will ask Ricky Dimon to compile all the info for a story this week.
