Work Together to Keep all Fed Cup Coverage Live for Fans

Tennis Channel and Tennis Channel Plus will have exclusive, live coverage of the Fed Cup finals this weekend, Nov. 8-9, as Wimbledon champion and World No. 4 Petra Kvitova leads the Czech Republic against Germany. After not making it to the final last year, the Czech Republic is hoping to be the Fed Cup champions again, having won the title in 2012 and 2011. They will host Germany at the O2 Arena in Prague.

In recent years, with the Fed Cup final weekend taking place at the same time as the men’s Paris Masters event, Tennis Channel has shown same-day delayed coverage of Fed Cup’s matches. This year with the first day of Fed Cup play taking place a week later, Saturday, Nov. 8, the network is able to offer both matches live to viewers. While obligations to the men’s year-end championships in London prohibit Tennis Channel from doing similar live (or same-day delayed) coverage of Fed Cup Sunday, Nov. 9, live match play will be shown on the network’s new digital subscription service, Tennis Channel Plus. Due to the development of Tennis Channel Plus, the network is able, for the first time, to air live coverage of a non-U.S. Fed Cup final weekend in its entirety.

Tennis Channel’s coverage of the finals will begin with the initial two matches airing Saturday, Nov. 8, at 7 a.m. ET, with the first ball of play. The second day of the year-end championship will be hosted live on Tennis Channel Plus, Sunday, Nov. 9, starting at 7 a.m. ET. Encore coverage will be available on Tennis Channel throughout the two weeks following the tournament. In addition, the entirety of the tournament will be available in the “On Demand” section of Tennis Channel Plus a week after match play has ended. For a complete schedule of Tennis Channel’s Fed Cup finals coverage, visit www.tennischannel.com\schedule.

The Fed Cup finals coverage start dates and times are below. (All coverage is ET and live unless otherwise noted.)

World No. 10 Angelique Kerber will lead Germany into the finals against the Czech Republic after its defeat of the Australians 3-1 in the semifinals. She will face Petra Kvitova, who has won the last three of their five meetings. While the teams are well-matched, the Czech Republic has won the Fed Cup seven times since 1975. Germany, however, is hoping to overtake the Czechs and secure its first Fed Cup win in over 22 years, when tennis legend Steffi Graf lead Germany to the win in 1992. The women on the German team are: Angelique Kerber, Andrea Petkovic, Sabine Lisicki and Julia Goerges. The women representing the Czech Republic includes: Petra Kvitova, Lucie Safarova, Karolina Pliskova and Lucie Hradecka.
