Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal headlined an official government reception that doubled as the China Open players’ party, hosted at the InterContinental Beijing Beichen on Monday. Nadal and Serena Williams were awarded “best dressed” for the evening.
On Tuesday, Nadal participated in an on-court reception for WTA Tour player Li Na, who announced her retirement from professional tennis on 19 September. The 14-time Grand Slam champion emerged onto the court at the National Tennis Stadium with a bouquet of flowers during the tribute to the Chinese superstar.
ATP World Tour stars Grigor Dimitrov, John Isner, and Vasek Pospisil also visited with fans and sponsors in Beijing as part of the ATP World Tour 500 event.

In Tokyo, Kei Nishikori returned after his run into the US Open final on 8 September to an electric homecoming. The Japanese No. 1 participated in a Q&A with fans, who showed up to get autographs and photographs with their returning hero.
At the Tokyo players’ party, ATP World Tour stars Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Gilles Simon, John Peers, Mike Bryan, Bob Bryan, Kevin Anderson – as well as Japanese players Go Soeda, Yasutaka Uchiyama, Tatsuma Ito and Hiroki Moriya – were among the players in attendance.
