A Wimbledon title can go a long way for a tennis player, even when it comes in a discipline that may not be his favorite. For Vasek Pospisil and Jack Sock, that is exactly what is happening. Singles players by nature, Pospisil and Sock captured the Wimbledon doubles title and they are not looking back.
San Diego, Calif. – (August 1, 2014) – Singles qualifying competition came to a close on Friday at the United States Tennis Association Girls’ 16s & 18s National Championships Presented by adidas as eight qualifiers advance to the main draw of each division.
The official draw for the 2014 Rogers Cup presented by National Bank in Toronto was conducted on Friday and hosted by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor at Queen’s Park.
Something will have to give on Saturday when Dominic Thiem and David Goffin vie for the bet-at-home Cup title. Thiem is playing at home and on what is becoming his favorite surface. Goffin, however, has won an incredible 19 matches in a row since Wimbledon.
