Andy Murray’s clothing deal is up for renewal this year, and his new agreement is expected to be worth significantly more than before.
Murray is sponsored by Adidas , which is said to be competing with Nike for the two-time Slam event champion. Murray signed with Adidas in 2009, but then won the US Open two years ago and followed with the Wimbledon title.
As a result, the reported 4.5 million pound ($7 million) deal then signed by Murray could now be double that. However, the 27-year-old has also had lackluster results since winning Wimbledon a year ago, having back surgery after the US Open and dropping to No.9 in the rankings.
Murray and former No. 1 Ivan Lendl also ended their coaching relationship this season following their two Slam wins, with Amelie Mauresmo now working with Murray.
