CONNECTICUT OPEN ANNOUNCES FAMILY CLASSIC WINNERS
More than 150 Teams of Family Members Competed in the Regional Finals for the Right to
Play Alongside the Pros at the Connecticut Open on Thursday, August 21
– Nine teams of family members have won the Connecticut Open Family Classic, which was held on Thursday, April 21, 2014 at the Connecticut Open Presented by United Technologies, a WTA event that is part of the Emirates Airline US Open Series that began August 15 and concludes August 23 at the Connecticut Tennis Center.
Teams across nine divisions competed on the same courts as the top WTA pros, and the winners will be honored with a trophy presentation on Stadium court during the evening session.
This year more than 1,500 participants competed in more than 75 local events at tennis facilities throughout five states in order to reach the finals. The event has seen participation dramatically increase over the years as the event added more divisions and expanded into more states.
