John Isner is a ” MARATHON ” of a man
One set into his quarterfinal match with No. 8-seed Marinko Matosevic, top-seeded John Isner looked like he was ready to throw in the towel.
With the temperature reaching 90 degrees and dew point in the mid-60s, Isner was moving slowly in between points and gasping for his breath after long rallies.
If you’ve watched Isner play tennis the last seven years, you know this is when he is at his best. Indeed he was, defeating Matosevic 7-6(8), 6-4.
