The office here is gloomy. The day is sunny and bright but no one feels sunny and bright. We all feel so disappointed that our hero Roger didn’t walk away with his gold trophy. He saved a championship point. He pulled out five sets. He had his beautiful Mirka there.. He had the whole dream team. Lynette and Robbie and the two girls and super agent Tony Godsick and Severin and Stefan and Stephan the physio. . ( the Edberg one especially. )

But he also had that Royal Box. Sure it was cool seeing the big celebs. Hugh Jackman looking scary for a role and Prince William and his Kate and Rod “The Rocket “Laver and Roy Emerson and the list just goes on & on. Was it all too much ? Too overwhelmed ? Was Anna Wintour there Too ? David Beckham and Posh ? The beautiful twins girls in their matching dresses sitting on Mirka and Lynette’s lap. The twin boys Leo and Lenny with nannies. What happened ? Was it the man who comes from a country and mentality that survived a war as a child growing up in Serbia ? ( NOVAK?)

Was it the wanting to win that match more than any match you ever played before? . Was it juggling the three ring circus that you now live in between family man and management company man.? That’s Tonys job but now you foot all the bills. All the entourages salaries and needs ? ( meals , rooms , vans , airplanes, luggage ) The coaches. The physio. The trainer. The hitting partners. The nannies. The transportation … It’s like moving a small nation. The Roger Federer Global Road Show.

Roger Federer was going for his eight title. Not sure who was favored. We know we wanted to see the MIGHTY FEDERER. Sorry. But it’s just the consensus around here and our team still in the U.K. We are all Federer fans.

Tidbits : FYI.

We were right next to a few of Rogers practice sessions in Indian Wells as well as sitting Courtside with Gavin Rossdale and a very pregnant Mirka. So…. For the record we were right then that she was carrying twins.

We were right that his Wilson racket

was not 98″… Wow. Those were two biggies. His new WILSON which will be his own model is 97 “. It makes more sense that he would prefer that.

As far as Wimbledon number 8 we say we would rather see it be the outcome of a final against Rafael Nadal. There’s a bond and friendship there. One is the King of clay. The other the best ever.

The only way to describe this U.S. open is soaking wet without raining... It's really hard to play tennis when your socks are soaking wet and you are "sloshing" in your shoes. Your shoes get really heavy when they get wet.
