London. Wow. What a great city. One of my favs on earth. Grass court tennis. There is nothing finer. Queens was great. So was the Boodles @Stoke park , so was Birmingham and Eastbourne. But nothing on the planet can match the lawns of the mighty All England Lawn Tennis Club.

I’m happy. I’m here. I’m seeing all my buddy’s and old friends. Had lunch today with the Mirnyi clan. At the table there was the great tennis papa Nicolai. The great tennis player and papa Max ” the Beast ” Mirnyi. And younger brother Peter. Wow what a day for Peter. He met and got his photo taken with the Shaq. Also known as Shaquille O’ Neal. How awesome is that. Peter played high school and college ball and is a HUGE Shaq fan. So his tourney is made.

I saw the beautiful Michaella Krajicek. We enjoyed a few minutes chat about her recent engagement. Love birds for sure. I missed coco match. But heard she had 12 match points. Yikes that’s like 11 too many. Close out the match. I think she won it on a double.

We did have a few drizzles late. It was light and didn’t last long and not a bad start. The forecast looks very promising this year. It’s that new roof. It Scared the rain away.

I caught Ernie Gulbis press conference. It was hysterical. He is usually witty and funny and makes the most out of silly questions. He misunderstood that John mc Enroe had said that tennis no longer needed umpires. Poor Ernie thought he said vampires. Utube it. ESPN would have had the footage. It was funny. Derrick Rostagno used to use the phrase drainers. People that are around you during an event and drain the energy out of you. This was along the same lines …. Enjoy the grass while it’s still green lush and beautiful.

The only way to describe this U.S. open is soaking wet without raining... It's really hard to play tennis when your socks are soaking wet and you are "sloshing" in your shoes. Your shoes get really heavy when they get wet.
