Another stunning day of warm sunshine for The Boodles at Stoke Park saw a host of players continuing their preparations for Wimbledon.

Milos Raonic

“The whole goal, especially as the turn around from clay is so short, is keep getting better. I feel like today I played better than yesterday. I am going to just hope that each day I have leading to Wimbledon and then every match or practice set that I play, I am getting better and I feel that is the most important thing.

Preparation plans before Wimbledon now?

“Get out, spend a lot of hours on court and make sure that I am healthy and at the same time recover. Just keep adjusting and figuring out what I need to do. To understand that in the first round I will not play my best tennis, by any means I don’t expect to but I have got to find a way to win and after that hopefully I can play better and better each round and give myself an opportunity to do so.”

Any more pressure on you this year because of your World Ranking?

“For myself yes, but just because of my ranking, no. I have always wanted to do really well at Wimbledon, its probably my most looked forward to tournament in the year – not the one I have played my best at by any means but I watched my idol do so well there – I have seen so many players I have looked up to there. Even though there are the four Grand Slams, Wimbledon has a little bit more prestige than the rest”.

What is so special about Wimbledon?

“Wimbledon, the atmosphere is the biggest thing. Not just because its grass but because the rules are a little bit stricter. It sort of builds a certain atmosphere around the grounds. Grass court tennis – its difficult for a lot of people, especially when you are younger because you can’t expect to play your best tennis on it, you just have to manage to not play too much worse than you play on the other surfaces and that is pretty much what it comes down to. There is a lot of mental factor that comes in when you are playing on grass and thankfully for my serve it will help me get through a lot.”

Robin Haase

“Its really great to play at The Boodles. Its a really good preparation for Wimbledon, the best preparation is to play matches, so here I can play a few and it is a great environment.

I played a tournament in Germany and played quite well. I played singles and doubles and now here to work on the last few details and then we are off to Wimbledon”

Philipp Kohlschreiber

“The Boodles has a great facility, its great to be here. Its more calm than Wimbledon itself and we have good hitting partners. Its good practice here and it is a lot of fun and obviously very good preparation for Wimbledon.

“I think it is a big factor because in the beginning of a Slam its very crowded and there are so many players there and its not so easy to get time to practice, but here its vey relaxed, its a great feeling to be here and its the best thing before a Grand Slam to come down a bit and then you are building up the tension.

“The transition is the biggest we have in tennis, so far I am pretty happy. There are always some things I can work on but that is a good thing about sport. It changes a lot, everything goes faster and you have to focus a little bit more on your serve and its a much bigger weapon than on clay. I really like to play on grass and it is a great time of the year.”

Fabio Fognini

“I really enjoyed it. It was my first match after a long time on grass so I think it was a good preparation. I was feeling good on the court and I hope to prepare for a good Wimbledon.”

“I feel good after Paris. I took 7 days off because I was really tired, especially in my mind. I played really good matches it was really long first half of the year. So I took one week off and now I start with my preparation for Wimbledon. I think this is the best place to prepare, I am happy to be here”
