What a great day @ The Queens Club . The doubles finals was awesome and I’m certain the Brits wanted Jamie Murray and John Peers to have won. But it was Peya / Soares 4-6,7-6,10-4.
The men’s singles finals was also awesome. Really great tennis. A high level was played the whole time. Look at the scores. There was plenty of amazing tennis being played in this beautiful setting.
Poor Feliciano he had a match point. Oh the pain. Dimitrov is a gracious champ. 6-7,7-6,7-6. He had his number one lady in the audience that would be the French Open champ Maria Sharapova .
But they saved the best for last. The tribute to Elena Baltacha.
The Rally for Bally match.
Bally had the most amazing courage and spirit. She would have enjoyed how the whole country was part of her special day. Bally we loved you. We promise to support the academy in Ipswich. Realize if she was just 30 when she passed onto the big grass court in the sky. This dream of hers was formed when she was 25. What a truly great Humanatarian.
We know this day was especially hard on Nino , and Eleanor , and the Murray clan.
The crowd loved it. The mixed up match was a great format. Girls from Bally’s academy were present. Feliciano paid tribute wearing her bracelet this week.
The match finished up about 9pm. RIP dear Bally.
