Next month’s Barcelona ATP 500 event is stepping up its presence on social and mobile media even more as the countdown to the home return of Rafael Nadal increases in intensity.
As the Spanish king of clay competes for a record ninth title at the Real Club de Tenis, event organizers have announced that they are rolling out mobile applications across all platforms, including iPhone, Android and tablet. The new Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell application is free.
Fans won’t miss a minute of the on-court action and off-court developments with the new application, which will allow them to watch match broadcasts on their devices. The app was designed close to home by the Catalan software developer Enzyme and is automatically linked to the official tournament website, www.barcelonaopenbancsabadell.com.
The app features the latest news about the historic clay-court event, as well as live results, draws, order of play, and much more. It will also allow users to keep across all tweets, messages and pictures posted by one of the more high active online operations at the ATP 500 level.
A month before the start of play in the Catalan capital, the 2014 edition of the event has drawn in 25,000 fans on Facebook and 5,500 followers on Twitter. The clay highlight event will run from April 19 to 27.
