As an exercise in formulating an impressive roster of tennis names, StarWing Sports Management appears to have most bases covered. As a current day champion the company manages Australian Open winner, Stanislas Wawrinka. For the future there is reigning US Open junior champion Borna Coric and when it comes to a tennis legend from the past, few names still possess more glitter than Chris Evert.
But StarWing, fronted by the London-based former IMG and Lagardere Unlimited staffer Lawrence Frankopan is not resting on its laurels. First the company has signed up the French pairing of the extrovert ATP World Tour star Gael Monfils and the highly marketable 21 year-old Kristina Mladenovic for exclusive worldwide representation.
The new signings come as a package with Nicolas Lamperin, a former colleague of Frankopan at both IMG and Lagardere, who has joined the company and will not only continue to manage the business of Monfils and Mladenovic but also set up a new StarWing Sports Management office in Dubai.
Finally StarWing, who also manages the 18 year-old Croatian Donna Vekic, has also signed Mathias Bourgue, a talented French 20 year-old who was European Under 16 champion in 2010 and made his first noticeable steps in the men’s game by winning a Futures title in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt last September.
Frankopan said: “This is both a wonderful pleasure and privilege to welcome Gael, Kristina and Mathias. Nicolas has done an exceptional job in managing their careers to date and we are very excited about what the future holds. We believe StarWing Sports will continue to go from strength to strength.”
Lamperin added: “The clients and I are all very excited to start working with StarWing Sports Management . They have proven in a very competitive area that they are the best in class and we look forward to enjoying and building on this success in the future.”
