While Serena Williams remains optimistic about her chances at the Miami Masters, it’s just the opposite for Agnieszka Radwanska, who will have to hope she heals her left knee enough to make a second-round starts after a bye at the event.
The losing finalist at the weekend in Indian Wells who had to blink back the tears when she lost in pain to Flavia Pennetta said that she must wait and see if she can pull up fit to play.
“Now I am having just a few days off, lucky I am playing Friday so hopefully then I will be good,” said Radwanska, waiting for an opponent from Serb Bojana Jovanovski or Swiss Romina Oprandi. “Lots of treatment, pills and other stuff that can help I will do. I will try, I still have a few days I am hopeful I can do it.”
Radwanska won the title in 2012 but has yet to start matching the three trophys she claimed in 2013 after losing semi-finals in Melbourne and Doha, but exiting in the Dubai second round.
