Roger Federer is ready to play doubles more often as his back continues to remain healthy. He has teamed up with Stanislas Wawrinka at Indian Wells.
“I’m feeling really good now, I thought it would be a nice way to get started into the tournament,” he said. “I do realize I do quite enjoy it still.”
It’s also an opportunity to get in some practice for Davis Cup. The two won an Olympic doubles gold in Beijing and look to be strong challengers for Davis Cup this year after Federer committed to playing the competition.
“And yeah, maybe Davis Cup’s a bit on the back of our minds, but for me it’s more I enjoy playing with him, and I enjoy playing the doubles at Indian Wells,” Federer said.
