Barcelona Open Pays Highest Prize Money On ATP World Tour 500 Level, Singles And Doubles Too

In 2014, the Barcelona Open will increase its prize money by 8%, reaching a pot of euro 1,845,585. It is the highest prize money offered by a tournament in the ATP World Tour 500 category, followed by the China Open in Beijing, which distributes euro 1,836,751.

 

The winner of the singles tournament earns euro 422,100 this season, euro 32,800 more than in 2013) and the finalist takes home euro192,450, euro14,950 more. The champions of the doubles competition make &euro131,700, over &euro10,000 more than last year, while the runners-up take home &euro59,430 (&euro4,620 more than in 2013).

 

As the ATP announced in November, prize money will increase by an average of 10% annually over the next four years across ATP World Tour 500 tournaments, including the Barcelona Open. The total prize money across the ATP World Tour 500 category will increase from $17.6 million in 2013 to $30.8 million in 2018.
