Editors Note: Brett was exhausted. But being Brett he still posted this for us. He is such an awesome guy and tennis is in his blood. The heat followed by more heat and his 18hour days caught up with him. This is really a great postcard. Read it. It’s the tennis slams in a nutshell. We think the days are flying by but we think this is postcard #8. FYI. Brett’s turned his photo hobby into a business. How did he take this photo?
I’m tired so this will be a short one … Postcard number 8.
Every morning during the Australian Open I walk to the tennis which is about a mile away from my hotel. During my walk I cross a bridge, underneath there are train tracks leading to Melbourne train station. Despite being a good photo opportunity with the skyline behind me I think it’s a cool way to illustrate the tennis tour and especially the 4 grand slams. People from every part of the world converge on a city such as Melbourne 4 times a year, our roads, despite what we all do in between the slams, come together. The tennis is what brings us together, whether it’s the players and their entourages, the umpires, the television broadcast team, or the press. The grand slams are like a mini traveling circus, made up of so many different people doing so many different things, but tennis is at the heart of it all. So like the tracks all leading to the same station, we are all here at the Australian Open contributing to the event, and in two weeks the tracks will send us all on our separate ways. That is until they meet again, Paris France, Roland Garros, French Open 2014.
