The heat continues to play a big role in this years AO. While it’s supposed to cool down dramatically by the weekend, some players are finding it difficult to make it to week 2. Go ahead and put Djokovic in the finals, only threat on his half of the draw is Berdych, but I don’t think he can hang with Djoker in best of 5. The other half had most the big guns in it, Tsonga, Nadal, Federer, Del Potro and Murray, all will battle it out in that half of the draw. I’d love to see Del Po or Joe Willie win a slam but I have a feeling it will be Rafa that comes out of this side of the draw with Murray being his biggest threat. Tsonga and Del Po can beat any one of the big four any day, but beating two of them in a row is tough. We will see how it plays out. On the ladies side, Serena, that is all that needs to be said. The only person who can beat Serena Willians is Serena Williams.
I haven’t had a chance to shoot any tennis, I am busy working the live production for ESPN! But I hope to get out there at some point before the tournament is over. I Have never shot court side at the Australian Open, it has a great backdrop with the blue courts and unique stadiums, I hope to have some pics for 10sballs.com soon! Above is a pic I snapped of Rod Laver Arena at sunset on Wednesday in Melbourne! The sunsets here are amazing every night, it almost looks as if the city is on fire with color!
