Its hot out! Or at least thats what everyone is saying, tweeting, insta-gramming, and posting screen grabs of the weeks forecast of. I don’t know, except for my walk into work this morning I spent all day in the ESPN production truck working on the telecast of the days matches, but from what I could see, it was a steamy one! 9 retirements on the day, and I can only expect more in the days to come as it is only supposed to get warmer. I did get a chance to take a short walk around the grounds before the night session got under way and snapped this pic of the tennis grounds and Melbourne city skyline in the background. If there is one thing you can see in this pic its that The Australian Open is not only the happy slam, but a colorful one too! I love colors! One of my favorite things about photography is capturing all the different colors that exist in the world, and Melbourne in the summertime is chalk full of colors to enjoy and take photos of! Besides the courts being bright blue, unlike any other tournament all year, the city itself is beaming with color! From the Yarra river, to the breath taking sunsets, from the local street art to the buildings themselves that make up the city, some of which have amazing architecture. Melbourne is a great sports town and backdrop for the first grand slam of the year, its the perfect place to get the long tennis season under way. The people are friendly and it has a happy laid back atmosphere that makes you feel at home. The first round is in the books, its been a long day and its time for me to get some rest! Catch you guys on the flip side!
