Day 4 Postcard from Brett Connors

The Australian Open is finally under way and the big story after day one is, its going to get hotter, much hotter. We are talking well into triple digits for the foreseeable future hot. But it is summer down under, and these are some of the worlds best athletes so they should be ready for it, right?? The players who are able to manage their tennis and the steamy conditions will have the best shot at winning in Melbourne. The heat will help weed out the wanna bees from the true contenders, says the guy who gets to sit in an air conditioned tv truck all day! I snapped this pic leaving work, a local artist has created some amazing tennis street art literally on the street, it has a 3D effect even though the piece is completely flat. I like this one because its of a local boy, Lleyton Hewitt who plays later today!

It was the end of an era at Crandon Park for the Miami Open last year. From the Lipton, to the Nasdaq 100, to the Sony Ericsson, to the Sony, to the Miami Open presented by Itau, Key Biscayne saw it all.
