Editors note : Awesome to see American Bethanie Mattek – Sands qualie into main draw. Bethanie brings her wacky flair for fashion to new limits. Can’t wait to see what she is wearing. Knee socks for sure. Asics shoes , she says they are the best. Great to see Vicky Duvall make it thru qualies also. 10sballs.com really likes her personality and grit. Actually a lot of American girls made it into the main draw. Christina McHale, Lauren Davis, the only one who is hopefully a lucky loser is Varvara Lepchenko . On Monday Bethanie is up first on Rosewall arena against the great young Canadian Eugenie Bouchard. Sure wish after grinding thru qualies that tennis own “Lady Gaga” has to play on Monday. She could have used a days rest. Tuesday start would have been nice.
