LONDON – The Financial Times was introduced today as presenting sponsor of the inaugural World Tennis Day Showdown that will take place at London’s Earls Court. In addition, the FT has been named the official business publication of Showdown events in Bangkok, Hong Kong and New York City, and becomes the first worldwide sponsor of World Tennis Day.

Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, Pat Cash and Ivan Lendl will be featured at London’s World Tennis Day Showdown Presented by Financial Times at Earls Court Two on 3 March 2014.

Tickets for the London event will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, 26 November, via See Tickets (http://www.seetickets.com/event/world-tennisday- showdown/earl-s-court/751834).

Ticket packages that include access to a pre-match VIP party that will feature signature dishes from London’s finest chefs, some of which will be served by the tennis legends, will also go on sale Tuesday.

“We are very happy to have the Financial Times join us as presenting sponsor for the World Tennis Day Showdown while also activating in our other three markets,” said Jerry Solomon, President and CEO of StarGames, Inc. “I think it speaks to the caliber of the Showdown to have a prestigious publication like the Financial Times associated with the event. We look forward to working with the Financial Times in the coming months leading up to World Tennis Day.”

The World Tennis Day Showdown Presented by the Financial Times will feature a rematch of two Wimbledon finals as Cash plays Lendl (Cash beat Lendl to win Wimbledon in 1987) and Agassi takes on Sampras (Sampras defeated Agassi for the 1999 Wimbledon title).

The four Showdown events – in Bangkok, Hong Kong, London and New York – will each feature current or former pros all of whom have either been ranked No. 1 in the World or reached a Grand Slam final, if not both.
