Rafael Nadal will combine forces with golfer Jose Maria Olazabal for the Olazabal & Nadal Invitational Pro-Am, a charity event overseen by two of Spain’s sporting icons.

The golf event is set for the island of Mallorca the last weekend of the month, with Olazabal’s Sport Mundi and the Foundation Rafa Nadal benefitting.

Monies raised will be used to find the study of rare diseases at a Spanish medical institute of the same name and to promote sport and its values among young people with intellectual disabilities, a special mission of Nadal.

The November 29-December 1 event will also include other professional golfers, who will team with amateurs for the day on the links.

Nadal’s foundation is hoping to further its mission of bringing sport and sporting values to disadvantaged and handicapped young people. The timing will be a tight fit for the world No. 1, who is currently in South America on an exhibition tour but is due back home in time for the charity outing.
