Japanese tennis star Kei Nishikori has signed a personal sponsorship deal with Delta Air Lines.

As part of the deal, which will run for two years, the current world number 17 will be able to fly to tournaments around the world in Delta’s premium class.

In return he will participate in customer events on behalf of the American airline while displaying the carrier’s logo on his website and social media channels.

“As a professional tennis player, arriving at tournaments around the world in a relaxed and comfortable way is very important for my performance,” said Nishikori, who is managed by IMG.

“I have been flying Delta for a long time and am very excited about this new partnership. Not only does Delta have the best routing in the US, but the flights to Japan are my number one choice when it comes to choosing flights. I am very proud to be an ambassador of the best airline in the world.”

Delta flies 15,000 flights daily.
