Radek Stepanek has this to say about his divorce from former top 10 player Nicole Vaidisova: “There were times before when our marriage didn’t work, but I was fighting until the end to make it work,” Stepanek told TENNIS.com. “We didn’t find a way. I believe for both of us in the long run it was the best option. I didn’t want it to happen but it’s always better to be honest.” Stepanek is now dating current top 10 player Petra. Kvitova: “I found in Petra something very, very special,” Stepanek said. “She’s a very smart girl and very humble for a person who has already achieved so much in tennis. She has a big heart and when I see her parents, I kind of see my own parents. I’m so happy I found her, and it definitely changed my life.” . . . Agnieszka Radwanska will defend her Apia International Sydney title at Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre January 5-11 2014. . . Sabine Lisicki has signed a second deal since reaching the final at Wimbledon when she signed with the car insurance company AdmiralDirekt.de. Australian Open 2013 junior champion Nick Kyrgios and world No.17 Kei Nishikori of Japan will play at the Brisbane International 2014 presented by Suncorp, December 29-January 5. Roger Federer headlines the men’s field while Serena Williams is the top player in the women’s. . . . Bobby Kleinecke, former women’s coach at Texas A&M will be inducted into the Texas Tennis Museum and Hall of Fame Saturday in Waco at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.

–That Taylor Dent, operator of the Dent Tennis Academy in Atlanta, is working with Jared Donaldson, an up and comer who has stardom in his future. Donaldson has been invited to train with Roger Federer in Dubai for 3 weeks in December and is taking Dent with him.
