Juan Martin Del Potro is still reeling from having his suitcase stolen in Paris just before he boarded a train to head to the London for the ATP World Tour finals on Saturday. In fact, he says he’ s been miserable since the incident occurred.
In the beginning of the match, I couldn’t be positive, he said before his win over Richard Gasquet. I was frustrating for the days before I came here. I was thinking too many things. I’m not play my game. It was really difficult to be positive and be focused just in the match. But then the atmosphere down there was incredible and that help me to enjoy a little bit the match.
The Argentine lost a number of personal items, including his rosary that was blessed by Pope Francisco, as well as money and his passport. Del Potro has not heard any news from French police.
“ I like to play tennis. I enjoy a lot my work. But someone took some part of my life,“ said Del Potro who appeared to tear up during his press conference. “Is really resent, I don’t know how you say it. It’s tough to don’t think about that .One of my things was the rosary. But I have a few things which means a lot from my life. I don’t have it anymore.”
