59-time Grand Slam Champion Martina Navratilova is returning to Adelaide and bringing fellow tennis legend, former world No.1 Tracy Austin for a singles showdown at the 2014 World Tennis Challenge held January 7 to January 9 at Memorial Drive Tennis Centre.
Former World No.1 and seven-time Grand Slam Champion Mats Wilander will be joined by the legendary French Open Champion Yannick Noah. Fans will be delighted to hear Australia’s Wimbledon Champion Pat Cash, plus crowd favorite Henri Leconte and ‘the World’s greatest tennis entertainer’ Mansour Bahrami will also return to join the legend’s field.
Current ATP tennis stars who have confirmed their commitment to the event include world No.25 Jürgen Melzer from Austria and No.30 Spaniard Feliciano Lopez . While, South Australia’s young star, Thanasi Kokkinakis a 17-year old who this year won Wimbledon’s junior doubles competition with playing partner Nick Kyrgios has also signed to play in the current players field.
The strong line-up ensures the spectators and Fox Sport viewers at home will be kept highly entertained with the player’s astonishing skill and unmatched hilarity.
The 2014 World Tennis Challenge, celebrating its sixth anniversary in January, will feature four current ATP players and seven legends who will participate in an exhibition team event over three nights at the iconic Memorial Drive Tennis Centre, Adelaide.
