ASICS had multiple winners this past week with Sam and Feijao both taking titles!!

 

HP Japan Women’s Open in Osaka, Japan

Sam Stosur (ASICS FW & APP) came back to win the final after dropping the first set beating Eugenie Bouchard 3-6, 7-5, 6-2 in the final! In doubles, Sam and her partner upset the top seeds Abigail Spears (ASICS FW & APP) and Raquel Kops-Jones (ASICS FW & APP) in the semis but came up just short losing 6-4, 6-3 to the #2 seeds in the final

 

Shanghai Rolex Masters in Shanghai, China

The #5 seeds and 2013 Wimbledon finalists Ivan Dodig (ASICS FW) and Marcelo Melo (ASICS FW) won the doubles title winning 7-6(2), 6-7(6), 10-2 in a hard fought final

 

Macon Challenger in Macon, Georgia

Julia Boserup (ASICS FW & APP) had a good week reaching the quarter-finals in doubles losing to the #1 seed and the semi-finals of doubles losing 5-7, 7-6(5), 13-11 to the eventual champs

 

Rennes Challenger in Rennes, France

#1 seed Kenny De Schepper (ASICS FW & APP) made the finals but lost to the #2 seed and fellow Frenchman Nicolas Mahut in the final

#3 seeds Nick Monroe (ASICS FW & APP) and Simon Stadler (ASICS FW & APP) also lost in the final and in a match tiebreak 6-4, 3-6, 10-7 to the #4 seeded team

 

Sao Jose Do Rio Preto Challenger in Brazil

The #6 seed Joao Souza (ASICS FW & APP) upset the #2 seed Alejandro Gonzalez 7-6(0), 6-3 in the final to win the title in his home country of Brazil! He also made the doubles final but lost 6-4, 6-4 to the #2 seeds in the final

Margaret River Tennis International, Margaret River, Australia

Irina Falconi (ASICS FW & APP) made back to back finals repeating this week at the Margaret River Tennis International

 

Here are some interesting facts/news for this week:

In today’s rankings, Gael rose to #31 in the world after his good week in Shanghai

This week Sam is playing the Kremlin Cup in Moscow while Gael, Vasek, Marinko, Michael Russell, Tommy Haas are all in the main draw of the Erste Bank Open in Vienna, Austria

Sam’s win in Osaka was her fourth title of her career, second this year and second in Osaka
