Grigor Dimitrov has all but completed a life-swap after moving his residence across the Atlantic and taking on Roger Rasheed as a temporary quick-fix for his tennis. The Bulgarian romantically linked with LA-based Maria Sharapova has reportedly switched his base to the Californian metropolis and has taken on all-purpose coach Rasheed on a temporary basis to get into shape for the 2014 season.
Dimitrov revealed all on his Facebook page: “Roger and I have agreed to spend some time in the short term to help me in the journey forward in preparation for 2014 and we both are looking forward to this collaboration,”
The ATP No. 27 who has lost in the first round in his last two matches, at the US Open and Beijing, will be following in the footsteps of fellow players Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Gael Monfils, after both Swiss-based Frenchman had a go with Australian Rasheed.
Exactly how far Rasheed will be willing to travel from his daughter and his Adelaide base in order to work with Dimitrov remains to be seen, Rasheed has been around the block in the coaching game after also working
The former Aussie Rules football stadium announcer has been around the block in the coaching game, having also worked with Lleyton Hewitt early in the Aussie’s career. Dimitrov split in September with Stockholm’s Good to Great academy run by former world No. 2 Magnus Norman, who part-time coach to Swiss Stan Wawrinka.
