Three-time Wimbledon champion Boris Becker has lifted the lid on the news that his autobiography to be published next month and will reveal some of the juicy details in the life of the always controversial player who sparked Germany’s 1990s tennis boom along with 22-time grand slam winner Steffi Graf.

“Life is not a game,” second book for the flame-haired 45-year-old is promising to spill the stories of his tangled romantic life, which included a 2001 divorce, a custody battle and a hookup in a London restaurant broom closet with an attractive Russian in 1999 which produced a daughter.

“All I ever thought about Becker corresponds only half the truth,” the former players warned by way of tease for the 288-page tome. Ever since quitting the sport in the late 1990s, Becker has barely been out of the headlines.

He currently works with several sponsors including a poker website, fronts for Mercedes Benz and does tennis television commentary each year at Wimbledon for the BBC. His tweets are renowned for always being a few hours late with the news. And he’s never short an opinion about the current state of tennis or the elite players currently at the top of the sport.

The six-time grand slam champion’s tome will reveal some of the details behind his several marriages and other romantic entanglements, including his 2001 divorce and ensuing custody battle. “All I ever thought about Becker corresponds only half the truth,” he said by way of a tease for the 288-page book, which will surely become a big seller in Germany.

The book is the first major tennis autobiography since Jimmy Connors book this spring that moved up and out of the New York Times Best Selling List and since Andre Agassi released his a few seasons ago and revealed the details of how he lied his way out of a positive test for methamphetamines in his 1990s heyday and still continued in the sport. John McEnroe is also reported to be working on a sequel to his book of a decade ago “You cannot be serious,” with a 2014 publishing date set.
