Djokovic in Davis Cup Semifinals
All eyes will be on Serbia and Novak Djokovic in their World Group Semifinal against Canada. The match is being played in Belgrade on indoor clay. After losing the U.S. Open final after basically having the match on his racket in the third set, how will Djokovic respond to the indoor clay after a long plane ride and only three days of preparation? One could make the argument that he’s been stretched too thin by his schedule and hasn’t performed to the same degree as we saw in 2011 and 2012.
Not many people will give Cinderella Canada much of a chance but who knows considering they have a huge weapon in Raonic and the doubles duo of Pospisil and Nestor.
The other World Group Semi is between the Czech Republic and Argentina. Stepanek and Berdych are still dangerous as ever; Argentina is missing its favorite son, Juan Martin del Potro. Chalk this one up to the Czechs as they should blow out the Argentine squad.
