CLAREMONT, Calif., (Sept. 13, 2013) – Building on the experience of winning the recent US Open National Playoff and playing in the US Open Qualifying tournament, former Texas A&M All-American Jeff Dadamo rolled into the quarterfinals of the USTA Claremont Club Classic, a $10,000 Men’s Pro Futures event taking place at the Claremont Club.

The lefthanded 24-year-old from Florida and No. 6-seeded Dadamo advanced to the quarterfinals on Friday with a routine 6-2, 6-2 win over Australia’s Leon Frost.

Dadamo will next face No. 2-seeded former UCLA player Nick Meister on Friday.

Dadamo, who is currently ranked No. 621 in the ATP World Tour rankings and reached a high of No. 480 last fall, said he is using the US Open experience to his advantage. “I have to say I was a little overwhelmed playing in the US Open,” he said of losing 6-4, 6-3 to Guillermo Olaso of Spain in the first round of qualifying. “It was definitely cool getting to play the US Open and on Court 17.

“I’m glad I did it. But I just hope I don’t have to do it again.”

Dadamo stressed that he would like to get into qualifying in 2014 – or even the main draw – on his own ranking.

Dadamo, who played for the University of Florida for two years before transferring to Texas A&M, is the winner of two USTA Pro Circuit doubles titles in 2013 and graduated in 2011. He and partner Austin Krajicek won the NCAA Doubles Championship in 2011.

In the doubles final on Friday it will be unseeded Matt Fawcett of South Africa and former UC Irvine standout Fabian Matthews against top-seeded Carsten Ball (Australia) and Daniel Garza (Mexico). Fawcett and Matthews ousted the No. 2-seeded team of Keith-Patrick Crowley and Dennis Nevolo, 7-5, 4-6, 10-8.
