Sloane Stephens and John Isner, both who were uncooked out of the US Open, says they won’t be taking it easy during the fall season.
“I plan on playing four more tournaments,” Stephens said. “ I’m going to try and break the top 10 at the end of this season. I think that’s a big jump from where I was last year kind of around 40 and kind of lingering. I think this year has been a pretty good year for me. I’m going to try to end it with a bang. If I don’t make that, then shame on me.”
Like Stephens, Isner is headed to Asia for the tournaments there. “I’m not going to put it on cruise control from here. I’m going to try and get better. First and foremost, get 100% healthy, which I will be able to do, and go there and compete as best as I can. These fall tournaments, you don’t hear about them too much, but they’re very important. Doing well in the fall, it sets you up very nicely for the following year.”
