This is how my day started yesterday at The US Open.
Early bird catches the worm, they say!
Before I knew it Team Ana was walking on the court to prepare for her match against Christina Mchale on Arthur Ashe Stadium. The adidas versus adidas rule was in affect and since I worked with Christina in the past month in the adidas player development program. Who warming up after Ana on Ashe
From the moment the warmup I was none stop and went from warmup to warmup from Match to Match!
All together I watched 9 sets of tennis of the 3 girls I worked with yesterday! Ana started of with a win in tough battle with Christina and Dani followed with a win over up and coming Israeli player Julia Glushko. Dani faced 4 match points but her experience and determination payed off at the end and won 7-6 in the 3rd!
Everyday during our warmups I am greeted by a great friend and a former player I coached Greg Rusedski. He is now commentating for SKY Sports and their studio is right above the P1 practise court!
A night match at The Open is a must see and one if the incredible experiences if tennis you must witness if you are a tennis fan! Yesterday was a full house with over 22.000 people atte ding!
Unfortunately Caroline did not win her night match against a very explosive Camila Giorgi who seems to rise to the occasion on the big stages.
The Juniors will start today and I might have some time to roam around the grounds to see if I can spot the next big thing!
