Tennis Channel launches an online store today featuring network merchandise and gear.
The new online store can be accessed on www.tennischannel.com and www.shopthetv.com. Tennis Channel fans can also access the ShopTV application preloaded in 2012 and 2013 Samsung Smart TVs.
While the online store’s initial collection features athletic wear and accessories, the network plans to grow its commerce presence and expand its offerings by creating special edition items inspired by Tennis Channel’s sport and lifestyle programs.
Additionally, viewers will be able to purchase products directly within video, as they watch a clip or live tennis, and have the opportunity to buy the shirt or racquet the player is using. Among a variety of current items available for purchase: iPad covers, pullover hoodies, coffee mugs and magnets.
A trip to the 2013 US Open isn’t complete without a stop at the Heineken House, making its grand debut above the Food Village.
Grab a few Heinekens from one of the three bars on-site, relax in cabanas, play games with friends, and even purchase limited edition Heineken branded clothing from the Pro Shop. TVs will be set up throughout, so you won’t miss a moment of the action on the courts while relaxing with a cold beer.
You can also compete in the “Heineken Perfect Pour” each afternoon with local NYC bartenders judging the best, and awarding winners with VIP tickets to that evening’s matches.
The Heineken Red Star Café, located next to the South Plaza Fountains, will also be open again this year. Here you can enjoy a spacious, ideal setting to unwind and keep track of the matches while enjoying the Café’s laid-back atmosphere and enhanced menus.
And for those not lucky enough to obtain advance tickets to the final rounds, Heineken is launching “Crack The US Open.” A first-of-its-kind interactive photo hunt on Instagram that involves flipping your phone 90 degrees to discover hidden “Easter eggs” in the largest, most legendary photo on Instagram to date. Use your wits and cleverness to solve the clues and you could be the first to uncover a pair of hidden tickets to the US Open. Follow @Heinekens on Twitter for more details on how to play.
Entrance to Heineken venues is open to all, with activities for those over the age of 21.
Access Fixtures is introducing three new tennis court lighting packages designed for twin courts, locations where two tennis courts are located side by side.
Each of the court lighting packages is designed to meet either recreational, club or pro tennis lighting requirements. Equipped with major USA brand name pulse-start metal halide lamps and ballasts, the tennis court lighting packages will provide thousands of hours of service for evening and early morning tennis court use.
“Providing tennis court lighting packages for side by side tennis courts was a response to frequent requests by municipalities, clubs, hotels and resorts,” said Access Fixtures CEO, Steven Rothschild.
Access Fixtures twin tennis court lighting packages are developed by lighting specialists using photometric software to test light levels and distribution levels, meeting either recreational, club, or competition level tennis court lighting. Equipped with major SA brand name 1000 watt pulse start Metal Halide (PSMH) lamps and ballasts, Access Fixtures achieves 96% of the mean lumen output of 1500 watt metal halide systems while reducing energy use and providing three to five times the lamp life.
