The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) announced a multi-year global sponsorship agreement with SAP, a worldwide leader in enterprise application software.
Through the agreement, the WTA and SAP will collaborate to transform the sport – aiming to develop innovative solutions to further engage with fans, provide players with the tools to analyze performance and optimize strategy and better service the media. In addition, SAP is now an official sponsor of the prestigious WTA Championships, to be held in Istanbul from October 21 to 27, 2013.
“Through our cooperation with SAP, we aim to provide revolutionary analysis for our fans, players, coaches, and media,” said WTA CEO & Chairman Stacey Allaster. She went on to say the WTA is thrilled to be teaming with a global, innovative leader such as SAP as international companies continue investing in women’s professional tennis.
SAP helps companies and organizations run better, including the sports world, of which individuals in organizations and tournaments, coaches, players and ultimately fans get to experience their passion in new and exciting ways.
The WTA provides a platform for SAP to demonstrate its commitment to the sport of tennis on a global scale and help the WTA become a well-run business. SAP is planning to work with the WTA to develop solutions that truly enhance and grow the sport, focusing on on-court player performance in the first phase, with future plans to broaden to fans and media.
SAP is also the current mobile app provider at the Sony Open tennis tournament, has Ambassador relationships with former US Open champion Andy Roddick and current rising star Milos Raonic, and was the proud title sponsor of the SAP Open for the last nine years.
