After a comprehensive search, the Southern California Tennis Association has selected Bruce Hunt as its new Executive Director. Hunt assumes the position after serving as the Executive Director of the Rotary Club of San Diego, since January 2008.
He is by no means a tennis management novice, having been the Associate Executive Director, and later Executive Director of USTA Northern California. He was active in the section’s administration from 2000 until 2006. He has also been a member of the Youth Tennis San Diego Board of Directors.
An extremely personable individual, as well as an outstanding tennis player, (a claim supported by his League Tennis background), Hunt said, “I look forward to continuing the legacy of the SCTA, and of course, individuals like Henry Talbert who have continued that tradition. I am looking forward to meeting people from the tennis community and working with them, along with the SCTA staff, to promote and continue the development of the game in Southern California and across the country. The effort will require teamwork, but the promise for the future is bright.”
