World No. 1 Serena Williams to Host the Taste!
The world’s best tennis player has just signed on to host the BNP Paribas Taste of Tennis! “We are thrilled to once again, have Serena join us at the BNP Paribas Taste of Tennis. This is the first time we have ever asked a player to host the event and we could not ask for a better host,” said Judi Lerner, President of AYS, producer of the Taste of Tennis. The NY Post’s Page Six broke this story exclusively.
Headlining Chef: Marcus Samuelsson
Chef Marcus Samuelsson is back at our event and comes as Headlining Chef this year! Marcus first became interested in cooking through his maternal grandmother in Sweden. He apprenticed in Switzerland and Austria before coming to the U.S. in 1991. At 24, he was the youngest chef ever to receive 3 stars from the NYT. In 2003, he was named “Best New Chef” by the James Beard Foundation and, this year, his book Yes, Chef: A Memoir won the prestigious foundation’s Writing and Literature Award. He’s cooked dinner for President Obama before and, at that fundraiser, plates were valued at over $30,000, so we’re lucky to have the same quality food at the Taste! Get your tickets here.
