First off huge congrats to our buddies Bob and Mike Bryan and their family and team, even head babysitter auntie Elena of Apple . Wow we all knew when you broke the “Woodies” record that there would be no stopping you. Some of us have known you since you were little guys (8,9 ?) finding every nook and cranny in every stadium and facility. The boys were everywhere. You thought there were a dozen , not two. Maybe that’s how it feels to play you two too ? Celebrate BIG ! Boys , you deserve it. You keep doubles on the map ! On TV ! and in the stadiums !

We are still wondering about Andy Roddicks comeback.? We’ve been saying that forever. Basically since he quit ? We say 2013 US Open ! It’s all in front of us. Put the pieces together. He is young and has plenty of tred left on his tires. He has left Lacoste and has a new clothing sponsor ! That’s a big flag ! Then Andy releases a statement how much he missed Wimbledon. Those in the know figure all his deals needed pumping up. His body needed rest. And a few other tidbits that shall go unmentioned at this time. Maybe he found his long lost Mo Jo ?

Ok. Tennis commentators on the ESPN feeds. Ready. Blah. Blah. Blah. Some of you being paid by the word ? The gems were flowing. Old Goat came up with these comments and we agree.

Commentators moaning constantly that there are no Americans left in the draw. What draw are they looking at. Easy. Singles. But. What a glorious day for the Bryan brothers ! Also Taylor Townsend was awesome in the junior girls as was Lisa Raymond in the mixed doubles.

Old goat really thought Bartoli should have given Lisicki I more credit. She had a tougher road to the final. She took out the biggest threat in the draw.( Serena Williams ) Big applause to Marion Bartoli and all the grinders and grinders out there. She played tough tennis. She was literally in shock. For a brilliant girl she was practically babbling from joy. It was a great ladies finals.

Biggest tidbit. So big it’s not really a tidbit.

The award for 40 years of the WTA goes to only one lady. Gladys Heldman. Billie was the biggest name player and a huge supporter. But the WTA was planned, organized, established by only one lady. I’ve repeated it on purpose.

It’s thanks to GLADYS HELDMAN. Ask Billie Jean King . She knows it. So do all the ladies who signed their contracts with her.

The only way to describe this U.S. open is soaking wet without raining... It's really hard to play tennis when your socks are soaking wet and you are "sloshing" in your shoes. Your shoes get really heavy when they get wet.
